Hey.
I'm Ayomide, psychiatrist by day and writer by (mostly) night.
I go by Doc Ayomide everywhere online because, well, I am a doctor, but also because it's always been available on every online platform I join—unlike my first name, which is fairly common as Yoruba names go. (I'm Nigerian, in case you hadn't realised!)
I write essays on my website (Being Human with Doc Ayomide) and a weekly newsletter called Notes on Being Human, and reflect on what it means to live meaningfully as human beings, drawing on insights from psychology, the Bible & Apple.
Recurrent themes in my writing include relationships, emotions, behaviour and narratives. I also think a lot about how we use and abuse power, the groundbreaking implications of practical humility, and the ways tech empowers and endangers human potential.
If any of that interests you, come along for the ride!
